I would like to strike a deal with the Amiga community. My problem is that I have too much time on my hands, and have been using it to flame Commodore. This isn't to say I haven't been trying to use it more constructively. I am attempting to set up a kind of local Amiga mail-order business to sell Amiga hardware and software locally at mail-order prices. I am not alone in this. This business is a partnership, and my partner is a graduate student in business at another university. Unfortunately, neither of us have been able to get very far with this thing, mainly because the distributers for Amiga third-party products have been unwilling to cooporate. It was pretty easy to get information from the distributors of IBM products (we would also like to sell misc. things like modems, printers, etc.), but getting the Amiga distributers to send us information is like pulling teeth. Here is the deal: if I could get assistance in setting up this business, I could devote more of my time to selling Amiga hardware and software, and less of it to flaming Commodore. I think almost anyone on the Net would be glad to see this happen. I don't need much help in any of the nitty-gritty stuff, like how to run a business, etc. That part of it is being handled pretty well already. I just need assistance on how I can obtain sources for Amiga products at the prices that dealers and mail- order companies pay. We have a few sources lined up already, but most of the companies that we have contacted have either sent us no information at all, or sent us information that was of very little use. If you wish, reply through e-mail. Any assistance in this enterprise will be greatly appreciated by me, and probably by a lot of other people as well. -MB-
