To: Andy Finkel or someone at CBM What is necessary in order to run a tape backup system on an Amiga 2000 with an A2090? Will this require a hardware/firmware change to the A2090? Will the necessary device drivers be available before (or in) 1.4? I think that CBM needs to provide for some sort of reasonable tape backup support in order for business to take the Amiga seriously. Also, will CBM be adding more general support for non-disk SCSI devices? Is support for additional SCSI host computers (i.e. SCSI networking) out of the question? Please don't take this message as a flame. I simply would like to know what support will be added to the A2090 (and approximately how soon.) Thank you, -- Jim Pritchett UUCP: {attctc|texbell}!letni!caleb!jdp

Does anyone know of a way to hook up one of those cheap Colorodo tape backups to the amiga. They are made to hook up to the IBM disk drive controller and hold from 40-120megs. They are far cheaper then GVP or XETECs solutions, like 250$ compared to 780$!! (of course those are 150 meg backups, but I dont need a 150 meg backup!) Anyone know about a cheap tape backup for the amiga or how to utilize a cheap one.. Any help appriciated..
