[comp.sys.amiga] Help wanted with downloading from comp.binaries.amiga

tet@ukc.ac.uk (Tethys) (10/21/90)

Hi...

Whenever I download stuff from comp.binaries.amiga, I keep getting
Error code 121 when I try and run it on the amiga. Error 121 is
something about it not being an object module (whatever that means).
I'm afraid I haven't got my user guide with me at the moment, so I
can't give the exect definition.

I save the binaries onto an HLH Orion clipper, running Unix 4.3BSD,
using rn. I then extract them using the following :

 %sh prog1.bin
 extracting prog.zuu01
 End of archive
 %sh prog2.bin
 extracting prog.zuu02
 End of archive
 %cat prog.zuu01 prog.zuu02 > prog.zuu
 %uudecode prog.zuu
 %zoo x prog.zoo
 Zoo: Prog -- extracted
 Zoo: Prog.info -- extracted
 Zoo: Prog.readme -- extracted
 Zoo: Prog.readme.info -- extracted

They are then downloaded to the amiga (just a standard A500) using :

 %xmodem -stk Prog
XMODEM Version 3.6 -- UNIX-Microcomputer Remote File Transfer Facility
File Prog read to SEND ... <etc>

I get the same error message whether I send text or binary, or whether I
use XMODEM, ZMODEM, or Kermit, or whether I use VLT, online, or any other
terminal emulator.

Any ideas?

Replies via e-mail only please (I don't have time to read this newsgroup) to

  Thanks,

PS. Does anyone know how to get things from ETANA.FUNET.FI ???
I tried sending "/PDDIR ETANA.FUNET.FI:*" to listserv@earn.dearn which used
to work in the past, biut I haven't got anything back yet (this is over a
week ago).
