I forgot to mention that this survey didn't involve all students. It involved only those on the ACM electronic mailing list. Here's another section of that survey that better describes those questioned: ---- 3) What is your major/minor? major/minor % -------------- --- Comp Sci 86% Physics 20% Business 20% English 6% Geology 6% Geography 6% ---- -- | // Amiga Student on Campus Consultant Jules Cisek I do think | | \X/ Computing Services Student Assistant SUNYA, NY USA it's good! | | AMIGA Computer Science Major/Music Minor jac423@leah.albany.edu |

Here in Trinity in the service Labs there is a plague of Macs. Mostly 512s and Pluses. Awful, but that's the only exposure to a computer most Arts Majors here get (theses, graphs etc), so the notion of Mac=Best is indelibly imprinted. What Commodore needs to do is donate huge numbers of obsolete units to achieve the same 'esteem' as Apple is an average students mind. Proximity breeds familiarity. One A500 sitting beside a row of Mac+s (or Classics) will blow it away impression wise. -- Mike Rogers, Box 6, Regent Hse, TCD. | WRITE (UNIT=*,FMT=*) 'FORTRAN SUCKS' mike@hamilton.maths.tcd.ie (UNIX=>AOK)| The Irish...White Niggers of the World mike@tcdmath.uucp (UUCP=>oldie/goodie)| There is no God, get real for Chrissakes msrogers@vax1.tcd.ie(VMS => blergh) | -my annoy maximum number of people .sig-
