I know a fellow who has just purchased an Amiga 3000 and will be doing research using the Amiga and multimedia at the University of Michigan. He will be the only researcher using an Amiga in the multimedia lab, where there are tons of Macs, laser- disk players, video tape editors, and toys galore. He wants to know if it is possible to play video directly from the hard disk using existing commercial software. I told him that amigavision could pull segments of anims from the hard disk and play them, but what he had in mind was more along the lines of demonstrations he hadseend at various Amiga expos, where a couple hard disk controller sales people playing segments of Star Wars, or some type of cartoon directly from the hard drive. He knows that he can attach the Amiga to the laser disk players, but I think he wants to do the above which he calls digital video, because they do not have a video disk press available on campus (yet). If you have any information on commercially available software Thanks, Aaron Richards baronz@caen.engin.umich.edu Aaron_L_Richards@ubmts.cc.umich.edu ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~ The Amiga Underground ** MACRO on Campus (Michigan's Amiga Resource ~ ~ Organization). ~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
