Note: This posting does NOT contain a game, a cheat, source code, or an address for anonymous FTP. Hit 'n' now if you don't want to be bored. Just a suggestion from a person who does not post much except when I feel its important to say something. I just finished restoring files from comp.sys.amiga from last year. This group has changed. I am afraid that all the "core value" of the group is declining. Is it me or are there a lot of articles that list > or >> or better yet >>> as the subject line? I am using "nn" to read this stuff, maybe its the reader. However, apparently it occurs a LOT in this group. There is a lot of white noise in this group. I just waded through a couple hundred articles of stuff and I came up with very little unique knowledge as compared to the same amount of time spent in past days. I actually saw a lot of stuff written by a few individuals which could have been condensed into one article. I saw a "for sale" article, right after the big article stating that there is a place for it, and the place is not comp.sys.amiga. Maybe I'm wrong. The Amiga is doing better, I think because of the activity in the group in the past and sometimes, currently. But its a sad day when I go into a shopping mall store to pick up a magazine for $14 because I know that it contains mostly fact and very little gibberish. Lets bring up the value of the neighborhood - a)think and post, b)invite mail responses, c) post summaries of mail responses. thanks for listening. Flame me if you want, but please, privately. I am not posting this to be a jerk by tieing up the bandwidth. (And if you flame me, I get to see the state of maturity of the people in this group) I really do appreciate this forum, I need it, I look forward to reading it. I am just hoping that it gets back its old face. Thanks for listening. -- Todd B.
