I have a question, which to me is very important. I am moving out of my house in August of 1991, and will probably not coming back. I am using an Amiga 500 which my father paid for, with an external drive, modem, monitor, printer. A basic 500. Now when I leave, I have the option of buying the Amiga from him and taking it with me, or just leaving it and getting my own. Now I can afford either I think, but my question is the 2000 really worth the extra money? I am pretty sure I need expandability, and I understand Hard Drives are alot cheaper for the 2000. I plan on buying a HD and an HST modem with the purchase of this computer or a new one. Can anyone sorta push me in the right direction? Lima Bone (John Rankine)

For what it's worth, a California company has advertised in the Dec. Amiga World that they are now shipping, for $350, an expansion chassis for the A500. It has a 200 watt power supply, 4 2000-compatible slots (3 of which are PC-type also) and room for an internal 3.5" drive, an internal 5.25" drive, and an internal hard drive. They sell a memory board and a HD controller, and, supposedly, you can use ANY 2000-compatible board with it. It makes the 500 look a lot more like a "real" computer; the monitor sits on top of it. They're promising 2000-like coprocessor and video capability RSN, as well. If you're looking for greater expandibility, this could be the way to go... --Rick Wrigley fhwri@conncoll.bitnet
