Hi! Okay, my A500 refuses to believe that any of my disks are non-write protected. Both the internal and external drives refuse to write, giving the old requestor for "retry cancel" for write-protection tabs being on. This happens when just booted with a vanilla workbench disk and with my full hard drive setup. Now, there can be lots of reasons for this. Being in an adventurous mood, I'd modified my amiga a bit. ---- disclaimer: I am NOT whining about anything about the amiga, and PLEASE no one comment on "oh, well you did _______ or bought _____, so what did you expect but to mess up ___________." I know my system is modified, I just want CONSTRUCTIVE help, please! ------- e.o.d. --- Okay, I have an A500 with the keyboard removed from the case with about three feet of coaxial cable connecting it, the internal disk drive removed likewise, an external drive, modem, printer, trackball, joystick cable, 1084 monitor, the entire board re-boxed in a custom (handmade) lexan case, CLtd hard disk controller on the expansion port to a Seagate 64 meg drive with independent power supply, and an AdRam 540 board with 2 Megs on it (which includes one of those Gary chip socket daughterboards), 1.2 ROMS, normal Agnus. The computer itself sits on a platform above the monitor. Any help would be appreciated! Hey, as long as I'm wasting bandwidth :) is it feasible to hook an external power supply in to supplement the rather lowbudget standard A500 power supply? Specifically, to power just some of the stuff or to help overall? I am clueless on power supplies. Thanks again. sandy ------------ Sandy Antunes "the Waupelani Kid" 'cause that's where I live... antunes@ASTROD.psu.edu Penn State Astronomy Dept ------------ "que sera c'est la via" -------------
