(sorry about the newsgroup -- this site doesn't get net.motorcycle) Many moons ago, I had to sell my 1977 Kawasaki KZ650 fast for honeymoon-type money. As a wedding gift, my stepmother (a non-biker) bought it so that I could get my money in time. However, since she is not a biker, she has not been able to effectively get the message to the right person at the right time. After 1 1/2 years, she got back to me. Although she tried lots of ways, she was unable to sell it. It has been run periodically to keep it "ready for the customer", but not ridden, so the miles are low. It has new tires and is in excellent condition. I would buy it back but in the mean time purchased a new bike. For those of you that lasted through the sob-story, the bottom line is that she is desparate! I contacted the dealer I bought my bike through (I'm in Oregon), and he said they would sell it on consignment for about $900. Of course, we would get much less than that from him. As a final attempt before we turn it over to him, we're offering it for the best offer around $800. Last I (anybody) rode it, it was in great condition. It was used primarily as a commuter bike, with a few trips over the mountains to eastern Washington. It has new: brakes seat tires. also: backrest with removable pad to tie gear to easily. 45 MPG LOADS OF FUN! Now's your chance to pick up a really good bike at off season rates. Besides that, you'll make my stepmom really happy! Call Pat Standard @ (206) 722-7862 for all the recent details. (You can send mail to me, but I can't tell you much more). Tell her Dave Glass sent you.
