I haven't liked most of the stuff they've done since A DAY AT THE RACES (JAZZ is an interesting exception -- I didn't care all that much for the songs themselves, but Roy Thomas Baker made that album an impres- sive *sounding* one). however, I still very much enjoy listening to their first five albums. But even if the group isn't as good as they used to be, May is still a terrific guitarist. In case anyone hasn't heard and would be interested, there is an EP out from "Brian May and Friends" entitled STAR FLEET PROJECT. The title track is a rock arrangement of the theme song from a Japanese cartoon. The second song is a new song reminiscent of the old songs that May wrote for Queen, with a few nice blues riffs for good measure (Ahem! So to speak...). The flip side has a long instrumental "blues battle" between May and the other guitarist on the EP --- Eddie van Halen! He does some *really* nice blues work. [2] > (P.S. I heard that Vaughan has a second album coming out > sometime soon. Any confirmations?) > > Mark Vita I've also heard this on the radio. If I can remember correctly, it's supposed to be out this summer. I can't wait! [3] re: Canadian rock groups. Wasn't Heart originally Canadian? [4] re: Favorite Guitarists. My mother would like me to pass on that *her* favorite guitarist is Bucky Pizzarelli. --- jayembee (Jerry Boyajian, DEC Maynard) UUCP: (decvax!decwrl!rhea!akov68!boyajian) ARPA: (decwrl!rhea!akov68!boyajian@Shasta)
