I have seen several questions asking about HD optimizers and only recall seeing a couple of opposing views on B.A.D. I am also looking for an optimizer along the lines of COMPRESS and SPEEDDISK in the Norton utilities packages in the PeeCee world. Does B.A.D work that way or is there anything else out there? It would be great if there were something as part of a HD bachup package, etc. It needs to run on an A3000. While I'm on the subject of HDs. I recently tried someone's suggestion to set up a quasi floppy drive on my HD to copy floppies. This is the setup that creates a FLOPPY file as a quasi partition using the trackdisk.device, etc.My question is How do I get rid of it short of reformatting my HD? I have a funny feeling there isn't another way. Any info is appreciated. Cheers, Dave CMSgt David K Detert, USAF MILNet: detert@lognet2.af.mil PS. Let me add my appreciation to the folks who keep the archives, both NewXanth and UIUC. I don't know what I'll do when I lose my account here.
