(Before I start, a WARNING. I know close to NOTHING about UNIX. I hold the current college record for most crashes on the Apollo Domain system here, (I can crash one of those suckers by thinking bad thoughts at it!) and I am probably the least qualified person on the planet to do a UNIX machine review, but there seems to be a lot of interest in the new toy, so...) I have seen a 3000UX. Used it, played with it, related to it. Where? A local trade show 'bout three weeks ago. It was in a booth of a local dealer. Yes, that's right, a dealer - not Commodore proper. I think I can assume that this is the shipping version. I know it was a 3000UX, because it said "3000UX" on the front of the machine. It had a 100mb hard drive and 3mb of RAM. (or maybe 5). It was running some GUI that looked very Mac-ish. Black and white. It also seemed horrendously slow. (At least, to me. I had just finished with Imagine on another machine, and, in comparison, it crawled.) I had a spec sheet on it, but I canna find it. (Yet!) When I do, I'll post. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- | Dennis Grant DETUD595@CMR001.BITNET | There ain't no replacement | | Computer Science (Systems) student | for cubic displacement. | | at CMR.
