[comp.sys.amiga] Help on various 3000 owner stuff

mcgowen@saturn.ucsc.edu (Richard McGowen) (11/13/90)

I, like many others, purchased an amiga 3000 this summer through the ed discount
program. I am a bit concerned though as I have not received Amiga Vision yet,
nor anything else at all from C=. I was wondering if this is normal. I am
worried as a lot of people seem to have received their copies and someone
mentioned that they received something notifying them of the release of KS 2.02.
Could a fellow 3000 owner please mail me and let me know if this is the norm.
Then I would no whether I needed to call C= and straighten things out, or that
there isn't much interaction between an amiga owner and C=. Finally, I would
like information on how one goes about becoming a developer.

Thanks in advance,

Richard

You should have received AmigaVision by now. If you have not, try calling
customer support at (215) 436-4200.

I don't know what the policy is on notification of new Kickstart releases,
but upgrades are done through the dealer channel. You must go to your
dealer to get a copy of the new Kickstart. This Kickstart only works
on the 3000, and is available to all 3000 owners at a nominal charge
(determined by the dealer.)

Send mail to:

	CATS-Admin
	1200 Wilson Drive
	West Chester, PA 19380

And ask for information on the developer support program.

There are two developer levels, both require that you be working
on a product that you believe will make it to market.

Developer status includes a subscription to AmigaMail (our technical
newsletter), access to beta software, access to developers conferences,
and access to closed conferences on BIX. Commercial status also
includes phone support.

Certified Developer, $75/year, no phone support, no other
	    requirements.

Commercial Developer, $500/year, phone support, requires that
you have an existing product on the market.

CATS also offers materials such as DevCon notes, 1.3 Developer Update,
and AmigaMail. Prices and ordering information are available at the
above address.
