I am just starting work on my newest game, which at the present time at least, is called "Imperium". It is going to be very similar to Empire 2.2w (multi-user, shared library code, client-server archetecture), but will take place in space. Additional features that will be new to Imperium will be: Ability to network with other systems, either in a real-time network such as AmigaNet, the DNET NET: device, etc. And periodic dialouts to other systems via modems. Multiple server support, so that different CPUs can be used to control various parts of "space", and a multi-CPU box would have much higher performance. ARexx support right in the server itself, so that macros may be written externally to expand the Imperium features. Real-time dogfighting if the players wish to do so, and have the required front-end, and are using the same server. Ability to program your ships in a C-like language (ala- C-Robots), and "sell" the programs to the other players. As in most space games, ships are customizeable, and can be outfitted in many ways. If anyone is interested in helping me test/debug Imperium, let me know and I will give you more details and a release time-table. But I hope to have a preliminary ASCII-only version out within 6 months. David Wright 4262 Bennington Brunswick, OH 44212 USA (216) 273-1064
