[comp.sys.amiga] Your A2000

Please, if you actually receive this message, respond and let me know.
This is a FIDO node and I thought I'd try from here instead of logging
onto the mainframes.... don't know if I can really send mail this way.

Actually, I have a friend in Vancouver and another in Burnaby, so worst
case I could always send the money to them and they could make the
purchase, or you could send the system to you relatives here and I could
make the purchase from them.

A couple of questions: Is the hardfram controller fast? Will the RAM
board be any benefit if I add a 2630 card, or would I have to buy a
32 bit RAM card? (Never actually seen a 2630 card, so excuse the
ignorance..)

I've got a couple of HDs and my 2080 monitor, so all I really need is a bar
(bare) 2000 and an HD controller. Does yours autoboot, and do you have
1.3 ROMS?

From the large number of responses I've had so far, I think about $1000
Cdn for a bare 2000 (plus $100 for Super Fat Agnus if present) plus
whatever peripherals seems to be about average. I got a listing of the
Canadian educational discounts (albeit in French!) and I think that is
reasonable. I'm currently trying to sell my AT (only driven once...)
since I don't think I'll get much out of my 500, but it's not a
necessity.

Let me know what you think, and give me some info/pricing on the
controller and RAM.
