This is just to thank the people who sent me replies to my questions regarding a few problems I was having. I have summarised the results. -Blitter, AmigaDos & Multitasking- I received many replies with different solutions to the problem. Unfortunately none of them seemed to work, probably bacause I need to hog the blitter in my level editor for a long time thus breaking the multitasking rules regarding the blitter (i.e. using the blitter for short periods only). Hence I've decided to switch off multitasking completely (using Forbid() and Permit() ) This allows my program to work without the disk drives going crazy. -Weird Workbench- 1. Workbench occasionally booting into NTSC mode. This, I was told is a bug in the Amiga and can be rectified with a program call PALRESET (or something similar in name). I have not yet got this program so I cannot comment on its effectiveness. I would appreciate it if someone could mail it to me or give me pointers to a source. However please don't send me ftp sites outside the UK as I am unable to access them. 2. Crashing the system by manipulating windows. This is a common bug on all Amigas ( I don't know about WB2.0 though...) I'm surprised that Commodore have not done anything about this. Ah well, we live in hope..... 8-) Well that's all for now. By the way I've written a 2 player SPACE-COMBAT game for the Amiga. Would it be okay to post it to comp.sys.amiga.sources/binaries? I only ask because I don't remember having ever seen a game distributed there and I wonder if this is due to a no-games-lets-keep-the-amiga-a-serious-tool policy. If it's okay to send, then could someone in the UK with international mail sending ability contact me if they are willing to post for me.( I can't post outside to sites outside the UK academic network.) That's all for now. LIAKET ALI aka /\/\AD /\/\AX e-mail: la@doc.ic.ac.uk
