I apologize for having to REPOST this, however our HOST has been
rather incapacitated for the past two weeks. It seems the Wollongong
Software would not allow receipt of messages from other hosts. we could
still send out though, creating a problem of asking questions without
being able to get answers. Well, on with it...

I am seeking to teach myself C programming (I try to teach myself
everything that doesn't of necessity involve more than one
person). While this may or may not be deemed a worthy endeavor I
shall never-the-less attempt it.

This brings me to my dilemma. I am having difficulty with NorthC
in that it does not seem to follow the Lattice C conventions,
especially regarding BOOLEAN types and Windows creation. DICE
seems like a suitable option but to use it I must acquire the
include files etc., from Commodore. Essentially my questions are
these:

        a. Is there a good PD compiler out there that is relatively
standard? (PD is preferred since I am new to programming in C
and am not sure I want to spend a whole lot of money).

        b. If DICE is the best option how much would it cost to buy
the appropriate file from Commodore?

Thanks for the help! Direct EMail would be most appreciated
(since the feed sometimes exceeds the store time before I can get
to it).

1.3 Includes are $20.00 form CATS (Commodore Applications and Techinical
Support) : CATS-Orders, 1200 Wilson Drive, West Chester, PA. 19380.

I'm sure Matt will correct me if I'm wrong, but I think he has a license to
distribute the includes as part of the registered version of DICE, so for the
shareware fee, you not only get more features in the compiler, but the
includes, too.
