[comp.sys.amiga] MIDI experiences

mcdonley@dinl.uucp (alan mcdonley) (11/22/90)

i want to report my success with building a MIDI interface for my amiga.
The circuit was from one of the fred fish disks and was nearly identical
to the circuit in "MIDI FOR MUSICIANS" by Craig Anderton. With the
proper optoisolator and inverter it works great just as published. Use
the Sanyo PC-900 (about $2.00) and the 74LS04 as published and it works
great with no resister dinking.

I am using the midistuff set of programs
(MIDIdump,MIDIkeys,MIDIrec,MIDIclock) to load and save system executive
messages and sequences.

I also tried MED2.13 with the midi driving my synth. Have not gotten
overly creative yet but the package does record keystrokes on multiple
channels and plays songs back over midi. You can mix the sampled sounds
on the amiga and MIDI channels for the various voices of the songs.
