I was wondering..... Does anybody know of the existence of 3 dimensional graphics development environments for the Amiga? Now let me clarify what I am really after: 1. the system should have a set of ready-built graphics primitives (line, circle, shape, etc) and routines for handling them (move, copy, delete) 2. built-in routines for common 3D tasks (hidden line removal, shaded image display, maybe ray tracing - or file transfer to other packages that do) 3. redefinable user interface (the ability to make new menus, tool palettes, dialogue boxes) 4. redefinable graphics primitives (the ability to define application specific objects - walls in architecture, capacitors in electrical eng.) 5. the ability to hold non-graphic data against the graphic primitives (drawings are after all representations of real world objects which usually have more characteristics than their image...) Now I could keep going, but I think that lot gets the message across. What I want is something akin to the current RDBMS analogy - the system is ready to work as supplied, all you have to do is build your specific application. In my case, I would like to develop something for architectural use. I feel unwilling to write code to display a 3D planar object in perspective though. Something like 3D Pro seems to come close, but it's file structure has limits on the number of points, shapes, etc - not good enough. AmigaVision seems like it could handle the user interface issues (maybe), and with AREXX could be used to link a number of packages. For instance, something like Superbase Pro could be used to hold some or all of the data (surely there is a better database system for the Amiga????); 3D Pro to provide the graphical display; and AV to provide the user interface. And so I open the discussion: does anybody know of such development environments, or combinatiion of existing packages that could do the job?
