[comp.sys.amiga] harddisk/Workbench 1.3 bug?

w5ly@vax5.cit.cornell.edu (11/30/90)

I have an Amiga 1000 and a Pal Jr. hard disk. I used to get along just
fine, but now I'm trying to use Workbench. Sometimes I can get the system
to work correctly, but usually Workbench develops serious problems finding
things. My startup file runs setpatch and binddrivers, then changes all
of the assigns to point to directories on DH0:. Now, when I try to use any
thing in Workbench (get Info on an icon, etc.) I get errors.

I have no problems using the CLI (overlaid with Matt Dillon's shell). I have
a message port interceptor (monproc). Looking at Workbench, it finds that
Workbench looks for libraries (icon.library), and the hard disk says that
it's not there (ACTION_FALSE or something like that). Hate to disagree,
(the computer is always right) but looking from the CLI it is there, and
it's the same as what's on my distribution disks.

One program I use (MicroGNUEmacs) reads the table of mounted volumes. It
lists DH0: twice. The volume label on the hard disk is DH0. Any good
ideas?
