I decided to investigate SynthiaIIDemo's slowness of operation myself, and my findings were that the program normally runs at a priority of 11 (eleven); this is a bit too high for a 'friendly' multitasking program. Also, when you tell it to 'MAKE' an instrument, it either ups the priority to some *very* unfriendly number or inhibits multitasking completely. What happens is you press 'MAKE' and everything freezes for several seconds to several minutes while the program calculates the new instrument. I tried a disk access just before clicking 'MAKE' and the access didn't finish until the 'MAKE' was done. Can ANYONE who has used the actual SynthiaII commercial release please tell me whether that program exhibits similar behavior? While you're at it, you might give me any opinions you have of the program.
