As a person that likes to know about the competition, I read other computer magazines like MacWorld and PCMagazine. In the last months I have seen at least two Macinstosh adds on PCmagazine (yes, it's true.). One of those adds showed the Mac along with a lot of IBM and Mac software stacked to its sides and the whole add goes saying that "only a Macintosh can run Mac software" and that "we have no problems running your MS-DOS software, since we got SoftPC (a PC software emulation that on a CX will run like a 4.77 MHz PC or slower) and Mac286 (a card with a 286 for running IBM programs while running the Macintosh using the finder)." - I don't know if you can run IBM software with Mac286 at the same time you run the Mac- The other showed some magazines for the IBM comunity (PCworld, PCmagaznie, and others) along with general-purpose magazines (Computer Shopper, InfoWorld, etc.) that had as covers the GUI issue (Graphical-User-Interface). Then it said that all agree that the Mac interface is the more poslished one, the better, etc. so if you are trying to have a Mac with Windows why not try having a real Mac instead. Again it talked about the fact that the Mac has no problem running IBM software but "only Macintosh can run Mac software." You almost have the same idea I am going to say: Why not advertise on PCMagazine AND MacWorld (and other Mac magazines) about that the AMIGA can RUN BOTH? Also, as far as I now, the Mac286 card DOES NOT has expansion slots and can emulate only CGA graphics making apple's claim about that it can run MS-DOS software without problems wrong. After all we could say "To run IBM, the Mac has to bee adapted to it. Ours (the AMIGA) was designed for it." And of course mention that with AMAX we can "have a Mac" for less price than a lot of Mac models (sorry, but the new $1,000 Mac could not be compared, unless you talk about the other AMIGA extras you earn). I think that if COMMODORE wants to do good advertising, it should start attacking the competition without shame. COMMODORE is doing well with the Multimedia thing, but it shoud compare those advantages with others. I saw in the November (maybe December) BYTE magazine a new add by IBM about multimedia saying that it had the right multimedia machine since they got Microchannel (big deal). And that now, something is moving on the screen of the PS/2 (GREAT!). It seems that they got other niceties such as real-time digitizing from a TV source but I'm quite sure that option will $COST$. These guys (IBM and Apple) are doing *GOOD HYPE* with these adds and I think that they are just doing that: HYPE. But with this HYPE they are making *GOOD MONEY* so why be so shameful as making "hype" when we can really back up what we are saying? Any comments COMMODORE?
