I have been getting *alot* of crashes on my Amiga 500 system, and as far as I can figure out, it is because of the driver software for my hard drive or the system software or a combination. I keep getting Gurus, usually an address error or illegal instruction, but almost always in the AmigaShell process. The strange thing is, is that the address in the Guru message is the _base_ address of the AmigaShell process. I am using an Amiga 500 with A590, a Supra 500XP hd (40mb) with 2Mb of RAM onboard (for a total of 3Mb of RAM). I do not have any "extras" in my system (such as a screen blanker), and I just completely re-installed the latest system software (1.3.2). Anyone having similar problems? It is extremely annoying having the machine crash anywhere from 5 to 30 minutes into using it. -Cary -- +---------------------------------------+---------------------------------+ | Cary Farrier | Internet : farrier@apple.com | | Apple II Systems Software Engineering | UUCP : apple!farrier | | Apple Computer, Inc. | Fax : (408) 974-1704 | | 20525 Mariani Ave. | AppleLink : FARRIER | | Cupertino, CA 95014 | or farrier%applelink@apple.com | +---------------------------------------+---------------------------------+
