Greeting netters, I'm having problems with getting my Absoft Fortran up and running. I think the problem involves the location of f77.rl or other libraries that the compiler needs. I have f77.rl now in l:. Here's what I have done: 1) Put f77, f77l, and f77lib in dh0:bin (which is in my path). 2) Put f7700?.fc (?= 1--4) in l: along with init.sc as requested by the "manual." 3) Put f77.rl in l: (l: == dh0:l) 4) Made a directory dh1:fortran and put the other stuff from the disk here. 5) CD'd to dh1:fortran and put my program there. 6) I compiled a program with f77 -u*z50 llsp.f and got program llsp. 7) I run llsp and it immediately asks for some input, then crashes directly afterward. 8) I then try and link the program with f77.rl but can't quite get it. It either crashes during the link process or tells me it can't find a file. The manual is very unclear to me. If I don't link after compiling, it loads the appropriate libraries during runtime (so the manual says) - what are these libraries and where should they be? And how do I use the linker (f77l) to get linked stand-alone code? I am running this on a stock A1000 with 1.5MB (Cltd. Amega board) with a ToolBox and Flash Card controller (both p.o.s.) and a Quantum drive. I've had this compiler for a while, have never been notified of any updates, and haven't ever mastered it, but I recently find a serious need for it so I am trying again. I would appreciate your help! Thanks much, Scot sjk@astro.as.utexas.edu sjk@emx.utexas.edu
