When I was backing up to floppies, I used Express Copy. It is fast, and has the
advantage thet it creates normal Amigados disks as backups, allowing you to
recover anything you had on a hard drive, even if you no longer have the hard
drive.

Now that I've joined the civilized world and am using a hard drive, I find
myself confronted with the ominous task of maintaining backups....
For those of you with HDs, what backup program do you use, is it commercial
or PD (if PD, where can I get it? ftp?) Notable features, etc... I'm
looking for something that will run on a 3000 w/ 2.0...

Thanks...

I use ExpressCopy, and I think it's definitely the best. Unlike most backup
programs it outputs its disk in a standard format (either old filesystem or
new filesystem) but it actually uses its own internal "filesystem" to output
to floppies very quickly (while consuming little memory). Lots of features,
including ARexx support. I would be real surprised if it didn't work on the
3000 with 2.0.

Note Express Copy is a commercial product sold by ExpressWay Software based
here in Columbia, MO. While I don't have the program or a hard drive, I
do know that ExpressWay gives good support. Supra offers a version of
Express Copy with its hard drives. Finally, I know the programmer of
Express Copy, and he's a nice guy. :-)

BTW: the latest version of Express Copy works with 2.0 and the 3000.

Quarterback works on A3000/25 under both 1.3 and 2.0.
