I have a 2000 purchased in January, 1988 with a revision 4.3 motherboard (board itself has a '4.1' silkscreened in it, but has a '4.3' sticker attached so I assume I have a rev 4.3 board). Anyway, I would like to upgrade my machine so I can use (at minimum) the 1-meg Agnus chip. What revision motherboard should I get installed at my friendly service center/dealer? How much should it cost? Please bear with me, it's been a while since I've done any serious work with my machine, and I would like to be able to do so. Please DON'T suggest 'ditch it and get a 3000'. That's one option I do not find viable! Please respond by E-mail, it will be easier for me to find than wading through the usual 500+ backlog of messages I usually find when I am able to get through to my local Usenet node. Thank you. Thank you to all who have answered my initial query on upgrading my 2000 to be able to use the 1 meg Agnus. The consensus of all eight of my respondees so far is just to add the chip to my rev 4.3 motherboard. I'm afraid (now that I look at what I asked) I phrased my query in such a way that I didn't get the *real* answer I was looking for. The question I was most interested in is: What would I gain in the way of fixes by upgrading my motherboard to a release later than 4.3? Should I get a rev 6.x board installed? Your opinions are most humbly requested. As before, please E-mail your response to me at my .sig below. Thank you.
