I intend to post the following to comp.sys.amiga.binaries within the week, unless they have been recently posted when I wasn't looking. 1. BYNERY.LZH; Shareware hardware and demo drivers for using a PC XT hard drive with your Amiga 500. Cost to build: approximately $30 for the interface, $100 for 10 meg drive + controller, $225 for 20 meg. 2. MIDI.ARC; simple MIDI IN/OUT/THROUGH adapter for the serial port. Cost to build: about $20. 3. RASCALII; Instructions to add another 512K to your A500 motherboard or A501 expansion to give a total of 1.5 meg internal RAM. Requires OBESE AGNUS. Automatically autoconfigs. Cost to build: about $50 for the memory, +$10 misc. PLEASE NOTE: The "cost to build" does not include trashing your Amiga. I do not warrant nor guarantee these projects, nor do I promise that yours will work. I am distributing them in order to support the efforts of people who have spent countless hours and dollars on them and then made them available to us. IF YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO DEBUG HARDWARE, GET HELP. I will have implemented the last of the three projects on my A500 by mid-January. I will be happy to supply diagnostic help, including pre-installation checks to make sure there's probably no danger lurking aboard the boards. Comments are welcome. Alan whinery@hale.ifa.hawaii.edu
