Hello. In an attempt to sort something out, I would like to ask all of you Amiga owners out there to run something on your Ami's for me. You need a raytracer that understands the "nff" file format and an amiga. I would like you to run and time the following image: v from 2.1 1.3 0.0 at 0 0 0 up 0 1 1 angle 45 hither 1 resolution 500 500 b SkyBlue l 4 3 2 l 1 -4 4 l -3 1 5 f SteelBlue .5 .5 3 0 0 s 0 0 0 .5 s .272166 .272166 .544331 .166667 s .643951 .172546 1.11022e-16 .166667 s .172546 .643951 1.11022e-16 .166667 s -.371785 0.0996195 .544331 .166667 s -.471405 .471405 1.11022e-16 .166667 s -.643951 -.172546 1.11022e-16 .166667 s 0.0996195 -.371785 .544331 .166667 s -.172546 -.643951 1.11022e-16 .166667 s .471405 -.471405 1.11022e-16 .166667 This is a very common image, so dont expect anything special out of it. The purpose if for timeings. Run it at 500x500 res. Please send me the results, and I will be grateful. I will post results from various machines. I have times for: Sun SPARCstation 1 Sun SPARCstation 1+ Sun SPARCstation 2 Sun SPARCserver 330 Sun SPARCserver 390 Sun SPARCserver 490 Sequent s-81 Sequent b-21 gould np-1 Cray x/mp IBM 3090 RS/6000 320 IBM PC/RT NeXT (030) NeXT (040) Sun 3/50, 3/60, 3/80, 3/260 Amiga 500 Amiga 2000 w/020 33 mhz DECstation 2100 DECstation 3100 DECstation 5000 HP 9000/825 HP 9000/835 HP 9000/845 HP 9000/375 HP 9000/345 HP 9000/320 HP 9000/310 some others. Anyway, I am interested in how the Ami will compare against the Sun 3/80, the NeXT-030, the HP 9000/320, and like machines. I am not doing this to obtain data in order to flame amiga users or any other users, but I do want an accurate representation of where the amiga is. Please be honest with me, I shall be honest in reporting the results. Thanks!! - vsb Reply to: bostrov@mist.cs.orst.edu ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ ++ Vareck Bostrom ++ ++ bostrov@mist.cs.orst.edu ++ ++ bostrov%storm@cs.uoregon.edu ++ ++ ++ ++ All this signifigance ++ ++ what does it mean? ++ ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
