I will be buying an Amiga 3000 in the near-near future (read 1 to 2 weeks), and need information regarding Mac and IBM compatibility. First of all: IBM --> There are a lot of emulators on the market, from the bridgeboard to ATonce. Which is faster, more compatible, cheaper, etc.? Anyone know? Now: Mac --> The only Mac emulator I know is AmaxII, but I don't know exactly how compatible. Anyone out there own one? The ads are not exactly honest, and most salespeople are worse. Is it A3000 compatible? Do faster Mhz speeds also accelerate AmaxII? Bonus questions: 1. How uncompatible is Workbench 2.0? I've heard there are a lot of problems with upward compatibility. Basically, is the A3000 worth getting over a "loaded" A2000 or A2500? 2. Is the AmaxII and/or the IBM emulators MIDI compatible? This means a lot to me as a musician. 3. Does anyone know of Amiga MIDI software (preferable P/D or shareware) that plays standard MIDI files? I have had a hard time finding one. I know these are a lot of unrelated questions, but if anybody has ANY answers, I'd love to hear from you. The reason I'm in such a hurry is that I've found out that I have to relinquish my A500 to my younger sister, now on her way to college.
