I'm looking for a good Tektronix emulator for the Amiga. Here at work we're running a geographical information system (GIS) which can use (among other things) Tek terminals to display maps. I dug up a copy of VLT (version 4.824a) and brought the consultant who was installing the GIS over to my Amiga. He picked up on it fast enough (shell2.07m gives my machine enough of a Unix feel) and started getting displays to come up, but there were still some problems. The emulator is missing the dialog area, which the VLT docs say is about the only thing it lacks; this seems to be the only obstacle to using an Amiga with VLT on our GIS. Willy, are you on the net? Is 4.824a the latest version of VLT? Are you planning to implement the dialog area? Failing that, are there any other emulators out there which might do the trick? The higher the terminal level (4107, 4207, ???) the better. This would be a great opportunity to further infiltrate the workplace with Amigas.
