[comp.sys.amiga] 68000 Random numbers

cmg996@cck.cov.ac.uk (Martin-Martin Nike) (12/11/90)

I urgently need some way of generating a stream of random numbers
from a given seed in 68000 Assembly .. I saw a routine to do this on
the 6502 a few years back which just used an or' and addition of a
number..

Is there a constantly changing address in the Amiga which could be used as
a seed ?

I'd prefer this routine to not use any div or mulu instructions ,
or any looping ...

If anyone can help please mail me the solution and I'll e-mail you
a donner kebab (Without Chile' sauce, as it messes up the network)

Thanks

Well, I could post the 6502 source for 24-bit random numbers, and you
could port it... :-)
