[comp.sys.amiga] Help stop Montgomery Grant...

ah978@cleveland.Freenet.Edu (David A Gillespie Jr.) (12/20/90)

Well, I've heard a lot of people saying that they have tried to get Montgomery
Grant out of the advertising business, but that they can't do it because they
don't have a first hand problem. I do. I just had my motherboard replaced
on my 500 -- and it's always been defective. They refused to honor their
warranty, the machine had two other flaws when I got it, the monitor has two
problems as well, and I'm tired of them taking advantage of people who get
suckered in by their prices.

SO, I'm going to send all of the magazines that they advertise in a letter
explaining my problem and asking them to cancel MG's advertising. Of course,
one letter is nice, but a lot more are a lot better.

THEREFORE, if you have any horror stories about Montgomery Grant, feel free
to send them to me either through E-Mail (I'll print them out) or through
the mail (if you want to sign it, for example). (All addresses are at the
end.) I don't read C.S.A. too frequently so I may not see a post there, so
it's probably safest to go through E-Mail. And just so I can get some sort
of deadline on this, I'm going to send everything I get on or about February
1st. So get anything you can to me before then. And don't think that your
complaint is too small. The customer should always be satisfied, especially
with an expensive purchase. So if you weren't, let me know, and I'll send
everything together.

ALSO, you may want to send me names of magazines which carry their ads.
Include the "advertising contact"'s address (probably on the page with the
list of advertisers, near the end). I have AmigaWorld's, but need all
others.

FINALLY, anyone who gets in the mood to flame me for doing this, kindly
redirect your post to /dev/null. I don't care to hear from you. Whether
you yell or not, I'm going to send whatever I get. Nyah! ;-)

Thanks to everyone who responds (and I'm sure there are many of you out
there). Make sure that in your message you fully describe the problem, how
Montgomery Grant did or did not "resolve" it, and how you feel about this
company after having this problem.

Thanks,
Dave
