Just a reminder for all of those who seem to have forgotten or never knew
any better: a few usenet hints.
1) Music oriented things go in net.music, not net.general.
2) requests for software go in net.wanted, not in net.general or
net.sources (especially not in net.sources)
3) requests for addresses to places do not go in net.general, they go in
(choose your poison) net.misc, net.wanted, net.mail, or net.wobegon (since
we don't have net.people, net.wobegon could alternate for it. It's
underutilized... :->)
4) net.general is for announcements that are of interest to the people out
there worldwide. That includes Europe and Australia, both of which don't
care about your needing a path to SDSU or Baltimore, or early 50's songs,
or your fathers operation. If there is any question at all where it
belongs, it doesn't belong in net.general. Put it in net.misc. We need to
keep net.general clean and clear so (any more) people don't unsubscribe to it.
This is your mother talking. Listen to your mother. Eat your chicken soup.
And don't post needlessly to net.general. THINK! THINK! THINK! I know that
is asking a lot, but at least TRY!
And to think I got though that without flaming... It CAN be done...
