Well, I sent my Perfect Sound 3.0 hardware to SunRize for repair because it was clipping the samples, and today I opened the return package from them. Wow. I guess the hardware was an obvious lemon! Not only did they send me a new Perfect Sound hardware-- it's black and plastic while the old was white metal-- but they sent me the version 3.11 software upgrade free! The sound quality of the samples is amazing compared to the broken 3.0 hardware I had, and they seem to have worked out most of the glitches in the software as well. While I guess I should be mad that they even sent me such a bad 3.0 release, I am nevertheless finally happy. The Perfect Sound software is fairly useful, if not overladen with complex functions. The new realtime ECHO and DELAY are fun to mess with, but you can't save the results--you gotta create the effects manually in the editor. I don't know how the PSound hardware compares to others in sound quality, but this new fixed digitizer sounds much better than before.
