I've gotten several replies asking or questioning my statement in a recent post: > Example: Apple has been repeatedly known to threaten to pull a > dealer's Apple license if that dealer started selling Amigas. Where did I get this "info"? Well, I heard this over the course of about five months from three entirely separate sources who did not know each other. I also did not ask for the info; it was always mentioned in passing, usually when we conversed about problems with a lack of Amiga dealers or marketing. I also do not know of any reason why any of the three people I heard this from would lie. "If it's true, why has Commodore not taken action against this?" Well, obviously one can't know for sure, but several thoughts do come to mind: Lack of funds on the part of Commodo;e, probable good covering of legal tracks on the part of Apple; lack of reporting of this to Commodore for fear of losing Apple license on the part of dealers, etc. "Do you have any actual proof of this? I'd love to pass it on to Commodore legal!" If I did, I probably would have done so myself already, as would the people I heard it from. Sorry! Hey, I don't know how likely it is this is true... I dismissed it the first two times I heard it as maybe a passing incident that happened with a couple of dealers. But when I heard it yet again, I began to think of just how prevalent this practice might be. At the very least, my doubts were lessened. This is why I mentioned it in my post. Oddly enough, I can recall a couple years back reading the same bit of info in one of the Amiga mags. I think it was Amazing Computing in their Roomers section. -Moriland -- _-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_ "All usual disclaimers apply..." | Founder Of: Evil Young // | Mutants For A Better Tommorow. \X/ "Only Amiga Makes It Possible." | hastoerm@vela.acs.oakland.edu
