To ANYONE..... I've been asking a question localy and noone can answer it for me... Maybe one of the CBM Reps. can give me a feel for the answer. I have an older A2000, REV 4.2 Motherboard, here is the list of questions; 1) What does it take to install the Fatter AGNUS? 2) What about the ECS (Den.) into this system ?? 3) What does the 2.0 upgrade look like (ie. Includes any new chips, AGNUS, DEN. etc.)? I know new ROMS will be necessary. Also Any motherboard changes necessary ?? The answer to these question will resolve if I should update to the new AGNUS chip now or latter. Some of the noise I have been hearing states that AGNUS will be included with the 2.0 upgrade. Also I have heard that REV 4.X motherboards will have to be replaced for the upgrade to 2.0. Is this a fact, if so any feel twords pricing for the upgraded motherboards ? Thanks for the time and hopefully answers..... Please reply here and/or direct to my account listed below. Installing these chips is just a matter of swapping them with the old ones. There are some minor changes that must be made to enable 1Mb of chip RAM, but these should be jumpers and/or trace cuts. > 3) What does the 2.0 upgrade look like... >The answer to these question will resolve if I should update to the >new AGNUS chip now or latter. There are a lot of people out there with the ECS Agnus, and the policy should take this into account. As of today, no information is available on what will be included in the upgrade. Pricing and dates for the release are also unavailable. >Also I have heard that REV 4.X motherboards will have to be replaced >for the upgrade to 2.0. Is this a fact? No. This is not true. >David Bernard, Science Applications International Corp. -- -- Ken Farinsky - CATS - (215) 431-9421 - Commodore Business Machines uucp: ken@cbmvax.commodore.com or ...{uunet,rutgers}!cbmvax!ken bix: kfarinsky
