[comp.sys.amiga] thea64package

Hi There:

I finally got my interface card from QuesTronix to connect my Amiga to my C64
perhiperals. The A64Package seems to be a very nice piece of software. It
appears to emulate a C64 in every way. I even ran a number of games on it
without too many problems (aside from the fact that they ran slower than on
a real C64, but that is probably due to me not setting the preferences
properly). Both my 1541 disk drive and Okimate 10 printer work fine when in
used under TheA64Package, but when I try to use the utility "64Print" from
CLI to print files from my Amiga on my Okimate 10, it just runs and tells
me that it printed successfully. This would
normally be fine, except that nothing comes out of the printer. I tried
changing the device address and printing to the wrong device (in case it was
set wrong internal to the program), but nothing seems to change the outcome.
I called up QuesTronix, and they think that the problem lies with my printer.

Has anyone else out there had this problem? any suggestions for a solution?

Oh, one more thing, when I try to print a large file, I get a "W" printed on
the printer and nothing else. The disk keeps spinning and the system will stay
locked up forever unless I turn the printer off and back on at which point the
program exits with an error message.
It seems to me that the printer buffer is being filled up and not emptied.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions or threads of reasoning offering a
solution to this problem!

Just be careful with the connections to the 64 peripherals. I blew out 2 CIAs
trying to use The 64 Emulator by ReadySoft. I picked up a used one for $10,
and spent $45 replacing the CIAs. If you use a switchbox as I did, only
switch it with the power to everything turned off!
