A friend of mine is considering buying an ST. Horrible thought! The reason he is considering this is Neochrome, a paintprogram with very easy to use animation. I was hoping that DpaintIV would address this but now I hear that 3.25 is just released and DpaintIV is a long way off. I am looking for a good user interface with integrated paint and animation functions. Is there such a program out there? /Jorgen -- ******************************************************************************* email dvljhg@cs.umu.se - other ways to communicate are a waste of time. dPaint III is a pretty awesome paint/animation package..Jim Sachs (premier amiga artist, Disney animator swears by it)..what can Neochrome do that dPaint III can not? Another way to put it, what do you expect from dPaint IV?

I haven't had any problems with Deluxe Paint III on my A3000. (I'm talking about the 'fixed' Dpaint-III, the one that has "PAL" and "NTSC" as options on the startup screen.) The very first release if Dpaint-III did not run properly on a standard A2000 if you had run 'morerows', but the current release works fine. -- Joe Smith (408)922-6220 | SMTP: jms@tardis.tymnet.com or jms@gemini.tymnet.com BT Tymnet Tech Services | UUCP: ...!{ames,pyramid}!oliveb!tymix!tardis!jms PO Box 49019, MS-C51 | BIX: smithjoe | CA license plate: "POPJ P," (PDP-10) San Jose, CA 95161-9019 | humorous dislaimer: "My Amiga 3000 speaks for me."

Brand new DPaintIII. Has the PAL & NTSC options. Don't know anything more about it being 'fixed' or not. 1) Many operations (especially animation calculations) run as fast (or seemingly) slower than on an a2000. I'll admit I haven't measured this stuff. While we are at it, how about 68881/2 support? After all... 2) Crashes on a VERY regular basis, regardless of the state of the caches. Essentially isn't stable enough to let it sit back and calculate frames by itself under 2.0. Has to run under 1.3 to accomplish anything, and I ended up making a 10M data partition since the partition gets trashed every time it crashes while writing data under 1.3. (Thank C= this doesn't happen under 2.0) While this isn't all that's wrong, these two are enough to send it back, and puts it in the same category as WordPerfect - Nice features, but unusable. I would really like to see the antialiasing that is available in the Perspective tool incorporated into the Move tool. This seems like it would be a trivial operation and would make the Move requester infinitely more useful (at least in my opinion). %~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~% % ` ' Mark Thompson % % --==* RADIANT *==-- mark@westford.ccur.com % % ' Image ` ...!{decvax,uunet}!masscomp!mark % % Productions (508)392-2480 (603)424-1829 % % % ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
