I am getting ready to take advantage of GVP's upgrade offer to trade in any working SCSI controller for a GVP Series II controller. Before I take the plunge, can anyone tell me of their experiences with this controller card? With GVP itself? I plan to use this card in an A-2000 rev 4.2, with 1.3 roms, a Microbotics 8-up with 6 meg, and a (hopefully R.S.N. ;-) ) CSA midget racer card. The drive is a Seagate ST-157N, a 28 ms, 46 meg unit. Any info good, bad, or just opinions are sought. Flames and diatribes about the Seagate will cheerfully be ignored :-). davem@hp-lsd Thanks in advance.......

I just upgraded from an A500 with Supra500XP to an A2000 and GVP series II SCSI+ram card. I installed the 1meg SIMMs(6) which are *very* inexpensive, plugged in my hard drive which was previously formatted by my Supra500 and booted. No muss, no fuss. I LOVE the RDB "standard". Their prep software looks great and works fine. I used it to disable the SCSI device "polling" during boot. The device performs as advertised. =++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++= Mark Davis Internet: davis@decwet.enet.dec.com UUCP: decwrl!decwet.enet!davis =++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++=
