[net.general] 4.1 + 4.2 dired

After posting a version of "dired" in November, I have received a number
of requests for the 4.2 version. I am therefore posting to
net.sources a version which supports both 4.1 and 4.2 (using cond.
compilation) and vanilla unix (with some minor changes.) 
There are also some minor improvements from the Nov. version.
