Please disregard my previous message aabout the apparent inabaility of the pc6300 to handfle extended ascii character codes (i.e.ascii values greater than 128). it turns out that the problem was due to the file having been edited with an early version of Manx Software's vi clone, Z. the editor replaced al the occurences of the extended ascii characters in the source file with their 'normal' ascii equivalents. i normally use Command Technology's SPF/PC editor and was unaware of Z's 'feature'. thanks to all whio sent me mail about this 'problem'.
