Re: what does new wave have to do with punk / new music? Here's
your own quote:

Re: what does new wave have to do with cerebral functioning?
Perhaps not much more than what hard core has to do with cerebral
functioning, but the point is it's silly to lump the Dead Kennedys
together with Depeche Mode under one generic label, whatever the
label might be. Don't get me wrong. I like them both, but they
ARE very different!

You've been listening to too much Culture Club again Mikey! (-:

Funny that seems to describe early Bob Dylan perfectly. The more
things change, the more .. Aw shut the F*CK up! (-:

Gee I sure hope so. I'd hate to be whipping the same horse, now dead,
that my aging Hippie friends were whipping 20 years ago! (-:

I've never heard anybody said, "Yeah man, this stuff that we're
playing, I mean, it's like -- New Wave, y'know?"

Yeah, right! It's 1985, and here's Philip Glass, the Roches, and
Black Flag going on tour together. Oh haven't you heard, it's the
"Get Stiff or Be Stiff Tour '85."

Boy have I got a Peace Corps job for you! You see the natives of
Burma could use some help with their rice harvest this year .. (-:
