I am attempting to do some FORTRAN programming on my PC. My compiler is pretty fast. It is made by Lahey. The problem comes when I try to link the object code with my large library of object code utilities. The link process takes over five minutes ! I am using Microsoft LINK version 2.5. Is there a much faster LINK ? Also, the version of LIB that I have is v.1.0 from Microsoft. This program has the nasty attribute of taking 100 times as long to add the 100-th module as it does to add the first to the library. This seems silly in the Space Age. Is there a decent librarian around ?
