[apologies if this is a repeat posting; our outgoing news program has been quite hungry recently] I've recently written a MS-DOS version of the Unix curses library, as an aid in porting Unix software to the pc. The implementation is a relatively complete version of the old (termcap) version of curses, though it does have some of the capabilities of the newer (terminfo) version (in particular, it provides access to a full range of screen attributes, not just "standout" mode). The implementation is considerably simpler than the Unix version, since many of the screen optimization issues disappear in the pc environment. It is written in and compatible with Microsoft C. At the current time, I am distributing only object libraries. Since the library has been used to port only one program, I still consider it to be in a "beta" phase. There is some documentation, but access to (or at least, familiarity with) the standard curses documentation is assumed. If you are interested in obtaining the pc curses library, please send mail (via the net or the post office), and we can work out a method for getting you the software.
