Due to circumstances beyond my control I can't use Compaq DOS. (I'm using an Adaptec RLL disk controller, and Compaq DOS doesn't understand 25 tracks per cylinder -- only the standard 17.) Despite having a nice on-board clock, I have to enter time and date manually on boot-up because IBM DOS doesn't know about the DeskPro's clock. Does anyone out there know how to access the Compaq DeskPro clock? It's not in the BIOS time or date routines, and I've been unable to extract this information from Compaq DOS. This is the only remaining obstact to having Compaq functionality with IBM DOS. I've already figured out how to set the speed, keyclick level, and flicker-free scroll. -- {hplabs,amdahl,3comvax}!bnrmtv!perkins --Henry Perkins It is better never to have been born.
