Try using the following: in config.sys, shell=c:\command.com /p/e:{nn} where nn = number of paragraphs and 160 is default and the minimum. I found 320 was sufficient. This is documented on page 4-34 of the DOS 3.2 manual and mentioned in chapter 7, also. +=============================================================================+ | Lonnie VanZandt University of Illinois Dept. of CS (217) 333-1925 | | | | arpa vanzandt@p.cs.uiuc.edu vanzandt@uiuc.ARPA | | csnet vanzandt@uiuc.csnet | | usenet ihnp4!uiucdcs!vanzandt | +=============================================================================+

I found 320 was sufficient. This works, but it should be noted that the numbers 160 and 320 mentioned will be the resulting env. sizes in BYTES from nn=10 and nn=20 (default nn=10.) That is, to get 320 bytes for environment, you should use nn=(320/16)=20... *************************************************************************** Dale Gass, Dalhousie U., Halifax, N.S., Canada UUCP: {seismo|watmath|utai|garfield}!dalcs!dalegass.UUCP or dalegass@dalcs.UUCP ...!dalcs!dalcsug!dalegass.UUCP or dalegass@dalcsug.UUCP CDN: dalegass@cs.dal.cdn CSNET: dalegass%cs.dal.cdn@ubc.csnet ARPA: dalegass%cs.dal.cdn%ubc.csnet@CSNET-RELAY.ARPA

[Et tu, line-eater?] No. It is the number of bytes. In DOS 3.1, it was the number of paragraphs. That changed with DOS 3.2. It's even in the manual! - Tom Frauenhofer ...!seismo!rochester!ur-tut!tfra "Aha, Zander Zlaslowych! You thought you could defeat me, but I still have my feet!"

This is an upward-incompatibility between versions 3.1 and 3.2. 20 would be the number for a config.sys file under 3.1 and 320 would be appropriate for 3.2. -- This paragraph is necessary because my postnews program won't let me write *less* text than I am responding to. Isn't that clever? Now you are reading this totally superfluous paragraph because of this. -- -Tom -- Tom Reingold; The Rockefeller University; 1230 York Av; NY 10021 PHONE: (212) 570-7709 [office]; (212) 304-2504 [home] ARPANET: reintom@rockefeller.arpa BITNET: REINTOM@ROCKVAX UUCP: {seismo|ihnp4|yale|harvard|philabs|phri}!cmcl2!rna!rocky2!reintom
