A couple of days ago, in news.groups, I proposed the creation of a new group -- comp.windows.microsoft, prompted by a posting asking for the creation of a group for discussing MIT's X-Windows, comp.windows.x. Comp.windows.microsoft would be a group where programmers could discuss the joys and tribulations of developing software for Windows using the Development Toolkit. Unfortunately, I forgot to cross-post to this newsgroup. So if anyone is interested, send your yes/no vote to my UUCP address, and if there is enough interest, I'll contact some of the backbone sys-admins to see if we can't get the group created. ---------- Don Mullen UUCP: mcnc!ethos!ducall!don Humanities Computing, Duke University duke!ducall!don 104 Languages Bldg, Durham NC 27706 (919) 684-3637 -- ---------- Don Mullen UUCP: mcnc!ethos!ducall!don Humanities Computing, Duke University 104 Languages Bldg, Durham NC 27706 (919) 684-3637

Does anyone have any experiences with the Windows forum on GENIE? I am finding that MS-DIAL has little (new) information content on Windows and suspect there must be someplace else where Windows developers are sharing their experiences. p.s. comp.windows.microsoft[YES]++; Michael Herman Optical Recording Corporation 141 John Street, Toronto, Ontario, Canada M5V 2E4 UUCP: seismo!mnetor!syntron!orcisi!michael ALSO: mwherman@watcgl.waterloo.edu

An excellent idea. This note represents four "yea" votes...
