Look at the PC Portable (IBM's >answer to Compaq) or the PC Jr (who could forget that?). > >And don't forget about the 8100. NOTHING was as big a flop as their System/23. That was their original try at a PC. Used EBCDIC. BASIC was its OS and only language. Not only that, but it was the slowest basic ever (and not too close to what I would call basic anyway). Used huge, slow, noisy 8" drives, and if you didn't have the printer turned on, it wouldn't boot. Yup, I've used one. Can tell you I know why it flopped! %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% - Jim Frost * The Madd Hacker - UUCP: ..!harvard!bu-cs!bucsb!madd | ARPANET: madd@bucsb.bu.edu CSNET: madd%bucsb@bu-cs | BITNET: cscc71c@bostonu -------------------------------+---+------------------------------------ "Oh beer, oh beer." -- Me | [=(BEER) <- Bud the Beer (cheers!)
