I just purchased a Seagate 30M drive for my PC and would like to get hold of a 'park' command for parking the head when I move the PC around, which I do quite a bit. I have heard that such a command may be part of DOS 3.2, but I have 3.1 I could try use the diagnostics disk which allows preparation for moving, but there has to be a better way. Any help would be appreciated. Please e-mail, or post to net if you think there is enough interest. I will summarize if I get enough responses. Thanks in advance. --------------------------------------------------------------- SANDY PHIPPS, Univeristy of Hawaii at Manoa ICS Dept. 2565 The Mall, Rm 319 Honolulu, HI. 96822 UUCP: sandy@HAWAII.EDU or ..!nosc!humu!uhmanoa!sandy ---------------------------------------------------------------

What I did for my HP-Vectra was to make a small .bat file that runs the setup program with input taken from a file. The input files contains the input needed to select the menu items to park the disk. After the disk is parked, the setup program waits for any input from the keyboard. At this point I can turn the system off or type somthing and continue using the system. You should be able to do the same thing with the diagnostic utility. -- Michael Coulter ...ucbvax!hpda!hpcllld!coulter
