I would like to convert a binary output file from "PC Paintbrush" (a software tool which comes with the Microsoft Mouse) into a file in PostScript format. The reason I want to do this is that I would like to combine pictures drawn via PC Paintbrush with LaTeX documents processed on a VAX. If I can just transform the pictures into PostScript format, I can do what I want with minimal extra trouble. Is any software available for this purpose? I could live with doing the conversion either on my PC-XT clone (MS-DOS) or a VAX (4.xBSD UNIX). Failing that, can anyone describe to me in detail the format of PC Paintbrush's binary output files, so that I can write such a conversion program myself? I have looked at the PC Paintbrush files, and their format does not seem transparently obvious. -- Rich Wales // UCLA Computer Science Department // +1 213-825-5683 3531 Boelter Hall // Los Angeles, California 90024 // USA wales@LOCUS.UCLA.EDU ...!(ucbvax,sdcrdcf,ihnp4)!ucla-cs!wales "Sir, there is a multilegged creature crawling on your shoulder."
